INTRODUCTION: THE GREATEST QUESTION OF HUMANITY

There is a question that every generation has asked:

“Why am I here?”

A person can know where they were born, their family background, their education, and their career path, yet still not understand the deepest question of life:

What is the purpose of my existence?

Many people search for purpose through:

• Wealth

• Success

• Fame

• Relationships

• Education

• Achievements

• Material possessions

But after gaining these things, many still experience emptiness because they discovered achievement without discovering purpose.

The reason is simple:

Only the Creator can reveal the purpose of His creation.

A machine cannot explain itself better than the manufacturer who designed it. In the same way, humanity cannot fully understand its purpose without returning to God.

The Bible reveals that human beings are not accidents, mistakes, or random results of existence.

We were created intentionally by God.

1. GOD CREATED EVERYTHING WITH PURPOSE

Revelation 4:11

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being."

Creation exists because God desired it.

The universe is not meaningless.

The heavens reveal God's greatness.

Psalm 19:1

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."

The stars reveal God's power.

The oceans reveal His greatness.

Nature reveals His wisdom.

But humanity was created with a unique purpose that separates us from the rest of creation.

2. HUMANITY WAS CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD

Genesis 1:26-27

"Then God said, Let Us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness... So God created mankind in His own image."

The greatest identity of humanity is not:

• Our nationality

• Our possessions

• Our appearance

• Our position

• Our achievements

Our greatest identity is that we carry the image of God.

Being created in God's image means we were designed to reflect Him.

God placed within humanity the ability to demonstrate:

Love

Because God is love.

1 John 4:8

"God is love."

Creativity

Because God is the Creator.

Genesis 1:1

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

Wisdom

Because God is the source of wisdom.

Proverbs 2:6

"For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding."

Justice and righteousness

Because God is righteous.

Psalm 11:7

"For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice."

Humanity was created to show God's nature on earth.

3. WE WERE CREATED FOR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Before God gave Adam a responsibility, He gave Adam His presence.

Genesis 3:8

"They heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day."

The first purpose of humanity was not working.

It was knowing God.

God wanted humanity to:

• Walk with Him

• Hear His voice

• Experience His love

• Live in fellowship with Him

Jesus later explained the highest purpose of life:

John 17:3

"Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Eternal life begins with relationship, not religion.

4. WE WERE CREATED TO GLORIFY GOD

Isaiah 43:7

"Everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory..."

The purpose of humanity is to bring glory to God.

Glorifying God means allowing His character to be seen through our lives.

Matthew 5:16

"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Your life should become a reflection of heaven on earth.

5. WE WERE CREATED TO REPRESENT GOD'S KINGDOM ON EARTH

Genesis 1:28

"Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion..."

God placed humanity on earth as His representatives.

Dominion does not mean abusing creation.

It means responsible leadership and management.

God created humans to:

• Build

• Develop

• Create solutions

• Manage resources

• Bring order

• Improve communities

Humanity was created as a connection between heaven and earth.

This is why Jesus taught us to pray:

Matthew 6:10

"Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

God's desire is that earth reflects heaven through His people.

6. WHY DID GOD MAKE EVERY PERSON DIFFERENT?

One of the greatest proofs of God's wisdom is human uniqueness.

No two people have exactly the same:

• Personality

• Experiences

• Abilities

• Thinking patterns

• Gifts

Why?

Because every person carries a different assignment.

Psalm 139:13-16

"You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb... all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be."

Your design is connected to your purpose.

7. GOD PLACED GIFTS INSIDE EVERY PERSON

God does not create empty people.

Every person carries something valuable.

1 Peter 4:10

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others..."

A gift is not only for personal success.

A gift is a responsibility given by God to benefit others.

8. DIFFERENT TYPES OF GIFTS GOD GIVES

A) SPIRITUAL GIFTS

1 Corinthians 12:4-7

"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them."

The Holy Spirit gives gifts such as:

Wisdom

Ability to apply God's truth correctly.

Knowledge

Understanding spiritual truths.

Faith

Ability to trust God beyond circumstances.

Healing

Being used by God for restoration.

Miracles

Manifestation of God's power.

Prophecy

Communicating God's message.

Discernment

Recognizing spiritual realities.

Tongues and Interpretation

Spiritual communication according to God's purpose.

9. SERVICE AND PRACTICAL GIFTS

Romans 12:6-8

God gives different abilities:

Serving

Helping others practically.

Teaching

Explaining truth.

Encouraging

Strengthening people.

Giving

Supporting God's work.

Leadership

Guiding others.

Showing mercy

Demonstrating compassion.

10. EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WHO USED THEIR GIFTS FOR GOD

BEZALEL — THE BUILDER

Exodus 31:2-5

God gave Bezalel:

• Skill

• Intelligence

• Knowledge

• Craftsmanship

His gift helped build the Tabernacle.

Lesson:

A person can glorify God through creativity and craftsmanship.

JOSEPH — ADMINISTRATION AND LEADERSHIP

Genesis 41

Joseph used wisdom to manage Egypt during famine.

Lesson:

Leadership and management can be Kingdom gifts.

DAVID — MUSIC AND LEADERSHIP

1 Samuel 16:18

David was known for:

• Musical ability

• Courage

• Leadership

His gift became worship.

DANIEL — WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING

Daniel 1:17

"God gave them knowledge and understanding..."

God used Daniel's wisdom in government.

11. HOW DO I DISCOVER MY PURPOSE?

1. KNOW GOD

Purpose begins with the Creator.

John 15:5

"Apart from Me you can do nothing."

2. DISCOVER YOUR GIFTS

Ask yourself:

• What ability has God placed inside me?

• What problems do I naturally solve?

• What do people recognize in me?

• What can I do that benefits others?

3. DEVELOP YOUR GIFTS

A gift must be developed.

The parable of the talents teaches:

Matthew 25:21

"Well done, good and faithful servant..."

God rewards faithfulness.

4. USE YOUR GIFTS TO SERVE OTHERS

A gift that only benefits yourself is incomplete.

1 Corinthians 12:7

"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good."

God blesses you so you can become a blessing.

12. JESUS REVEALS THE PERFECT PURPOSE OF LIFE

Jesus said:

John 4:34

"My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work."

Jesus demonstrated:

• Complete obedience

• Love for humanity

• Service

• Sacrifice

• Commitment to God's mission

Our purpose is found by following Him.

13. THE FINAL PURPOSE OF HUMANITY

The Bible begins with God walking with humanity.

Genesis 3:8

The Bible ends with God dwelling with humanity.

Revelation 21:3

"God's dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them."

The entire story of Scripture is God restoring what was lost:

A relationship between God and humanity.

FINAL MESSAGE: YOU WERE CREATED FOR A REASON

You were created:

✔ To know God
✔ To reflect God's image
✔ To glorify God
✔ To represent His Kingdom
✔ To use your gifts
✔ To serve others
✔ To reveal Christ through your life
✔ To prepare for eternity

Your existence is proof that God had a purpose before you were born.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

The greatest discovery is not discovering the world.

The greatest discovery is discovering why God placed you in it.

PERSONAL QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

1. What gifts has God placed inside me?

2. Am I using my abilities for God's Kingdom?

3. Who is benefiting because God created me?

4. What assignment has God given me?

5. Am I becoming the person God designed me to be?

PRAYER

Father, thank You for creating me with purpose. Open my eyes to understand my identity, my gifts, and my assignment. Help me use everything You placed inside me to glorify You and bless others. May my life become a reflection of Your Kingdom on earth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
